Family Dumplings 'Bread Ears'
A cozy Siberian dumpling recipe for a fun Friday family cooking session.

Ingredients
- pre-made dumpling or gyoza wrappers
- ground turkey or beef
- finely chopped onion
- a pinch of salt
- flour for dusting
- sour cream and fresh herbs for serving
Method
- Dust your cutting board with flour and arrange the dough wrappers.
- In a bowl, mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, and a pinch of salt.
- Place a small teaspoon of filling right in the center of each dough circle.
- Dip your finger in water and gently wet the outer rim of the dough.
- Fold the circle in half and pinch the edges firmly to create a half-moon.
- Bring the two bottom corners together — you just made a cute little 'ear'!
- With an adult's help, drop dumplings into boiling water and cook for 5 minutes after they float.
Fact
The word 'pelmen' comes from Finno-Ugric languages and literally translates to 'bread ear'.
